Brentford vs. Bradford City. A game of 4 halfs

Brentford vs. Bradford City in the F.A Cup 2nd round replay was the game many thought should never of happened but we won't go into that...

The game went ahead and what a game it was. Both sides began strongly but it was Bradford City who took the lead in 34th through Reid but this seemed to motivate the Bees and Brentford equalized right on half time through Marcello Trotta.

The second half was a close one and was a goalless one.

So it went to the extra 30 minutes.
This extra period started badly for Brentford as former Bee Alan Connell put a penalty away past Antoine Gounet  in the 94th minute to make it 2-1.

This once again only spurred Brentford on it was loan striker Trotta who fired home again in minute 102 and then just one minute later Clayton Donaldson somehow slotted home from a difficult angle to make it 3-1 to Brentford.

Just after the small break at half time in extra time the Bees once again capitalized through inform Harry Forrester to make it 4-2.

FINAL SCORE Bees 4 Bradford City 2

Brentford go through to the 3rd round of the F.A Cup Sponsored by Budweiser to play Southend United

Brentford vs. Bradford City. Here we go again...

So tonight Brentford replay vs. Bradford city for a place in the F.A Cup Sponsored By Budweiser 3rd round and a trip to Southend United.

This game is the game many thought would not happen after events at Valley Parade when Bradford played a un-registered player and then got thrown out of the cup but won an appeal so here we are...

Bradford City come into this having beaten Arsenal on penalties in the Capital 1 Cup and then drew 2-2 with Southend United on Saturday.

Brentford come into this unbeaten in 9 NPower League 1 matches and on the back of a 2-1 win away vs. Notts County on Saturday, the Bees sit joint 1st in the league.

I'm predicting a 2-0 Brentford win

Scorers to be Donaldson and Hayes

Notts County 1 Brentford 2

Brentford traveled to Meadow Lane in good league form but contrasting cup form of late.

The home side took the lead after a momentary and uncharacteristic loss of concentration from the Bees back line as Tony Craig unfortunately put the ball into his own net.

After this the visitors seemed by all reports to be in control of the game.

This dominance drew the opposition level through Adam Forshaw in the 36th minute.

This control continued but the Bees couldn't get passed the County keeper until the 88th minute when Clayton Donaldson bundled home to continue the Bees fine form of late.

The Buzz Blog man of the match is Brentford's number 11 MARCELLO TROTTA

Bees cup drama

This week Brentford have had a busy last week or so with the F.A...

To start off, the first team had a replay with Bradford City in the F.A Cup 2nd round. This game finished 1-1 so a replay was arranged but the F.A took the Northerners out of the prestigious competition as Phil Parkinson's played a loan player which they did NOT have permission to play.

This decision was appealed, this appeal was surprisingly won and a replay has been arranged for at Griffin Park next Tuesday.

Next off the young generation of Bees players took to the hallowed turf of Griffin Park in the F.A Youth Cup verses Reading in the 5th round

The week at GP. [+MK Dons match report]

So this week was eventful...

We will start with last Tuesday's match away at Southend United in the JPT.

This was a game that most Bees fans would have wanted to win but then again may have thought of the JPT as a distraction to the club's hope's of going up to the Championship.

Those fans who doubt the need for the JPT will now be happy as Brentford lost 2-1 at Roots Hall and are out of the Johnstone's Paint Trophy

Next we get on the road to Wembley [for a short time] as we talk about the whole Bradford situation, are they in or out?

To sum the story up briefly, when Bradford played the Bees in the F.A cup 2nd round the game finished 1-1 and a replay was arranged for next week.

However Bradford have been kicked out of the competition for fielding a loan player who should not have been in the team as he did NOT have the correct forms handed in to the F.A.

Bradford have appealed this but no team has ever won an appeal.

Now we head back to Griffin Park

Brentford vs. MK Dons was seen as a genuine 3 pointer and it did not dissapoint...

MK took the lead through Lowe in the 14th minute, but this seemed to spur the home side on and the Bees upped their game and hit home a equalizer through Clayton Donaldson just before half time.

After the break it was the 'Dons' who scored next through Gleeson in the 53rd minute but after that it was the home side again who raised there game and in truth controlled the game until.

This domination saw the Bees begin to open up Milton Keynes and it was inform Harry Forrester who leveled the scores in 72nd minute. Harry is bound to be being tracked by clubs in leagues above. There where representatives of Ipswich Town at Griffin Park for this game.

After this the game was controlled by Uwe Rosler's men and they scored and won in the 89th minute through hit-man Donaldson to continue a phenomenal run of form and moving them up to 4th, just 2 points off 1st place...

The Buzz Blog Man Of The Match is Brentford's number 9 CLAYTON DONALDSON

Get down to Girffin Park tomorrow night to support the Bees youth team vs. Reading...

BRENTFORD through to F.A Cup sponsored by Budweiser 3rd Round

Bradford City have been thrown out of the F.A Cup for fielding an ineligible player.

The club did NOT have the permission needed in time to field  on-loan player Curtis Good.

To field the player, Bradford needed to have had written permission sent in to the F.A by 12 noon on the day of the cup match, they failed to do this so Good was ineligible to play.

This decision is subject to appeal by 5pm today.

If Bradford fail to submit an appeal then the 2nd round replay at Griffin Park will NOT take place and the Bees will play Bury or Southend AWAY in the 3rd round.

Brentford vs. MK Dons preview

On Saturday Brentford entertain MK Dons at Griffin Park.

Both sides come into the game having had a weekend break from the league. Both sides played in the 2nd round of the F.A Cup sponsored by Budweiser and then Brentford played Southend away on Tuesday night in the JPT. The Bees lost but I and many other fans are glad to be out of the competition as it gives us the chance to focus on our campaign to get to the Championship.

Both sides are riding high in the NPower League 1.

MK are in 3rd place

Brentford in 5th but just 1 point splits the sides.

There are a few former Red and Whites back to Griffin Park as Dean Bowditch and Charlie MacDonald will return.

There are also 2 former England international players in the Dons setup as Alan Smith could well line-up against us and Arsenal legend Ian Wright is a coach at Stadium MK.

This will be another tough test for Brentford but we have played really well recently so we have a good chance...

I'm going for a 3-1 Bees win with Donaldson, Forrester and Hayes on the score sheet

Bradford vs. BRENTFORD F.A Cup 2nd round preview.

Brentford have traveled the miles tonight to Coral Windows Stadium in Bradford for the F.A Cup Sponsored by Budweiser 2nd round match vs. Bradford City.

Brentford traveled to the game unbeaten in 8 and looking good to go on and reach the play offs.

As for league places, the Bees are in 5th in NPower League 1 and Bradford are in 6th in NPower league 2.

Just because they are in the league above, Brentford will NOT think this will be a easy game as there never are any easy F.A Cup games.

Last time the sides met it finished 1-1 at Bradford. This was in Brentford's championship winning season in 2009

My prediction is a 2-0 Brentford win with Donaldson and Forrester on target with the Bees going through to play Manchester United/City AWAY.

Brentford 2 Sheffield United 0

Brentford arrived in at Griffin Park in a rich vein of for unbeaten in 7 games and sitting 7th in the league 1 standings.
As for Sheffield United, the Blades where having a fantastic season and arrived at Griffin Park in 2nd place in n power league 1 so where arguably slight favorites.

At the beginning of the game, it was the home side who started the stronger and took a well deserved lead after just 3 minutes when Clayton Donaldson slotted home and the Bees looked good value for the lead.

The home side continued to control the game and this domination lead to Brentford scoring once again in the 29th minute when Harry Forrester scored a wonder goal. The young midfielder took the ball inside and smashed it from outside the box to beat the United goal keeper. There was nothing the keeper could do.

Although that was it for goals, the game continued to be an exciting, end to end encounter and both keepers where kept busy and both made some superb saves.

So Brentford where the winners and this was well deserved.

The win put Rosler's side up to 5th and just 1 point from automatic promotion.

The Buzz man of the match award goes to Brentford's goal keeper Simon Moore.

NEW loan signing's for Brentford

This morning Brentford have announced the completion of 2 loan
signings.

The Bees have brought in defender Lee Hodson from Watford and Italian under 19 international striker Marcello Trotta from Fulham.

Reports are that Trotta is player that Brentford have been looking at for a while, this may lead to Bees fan's wanting to know why he has NOT been brought in sooner especially after injuries to other strikers in the squad.

Lee Hodson however may be seen as an unexpected signing signing. He plays at right back.

Stats report:

Hodson has played 83 times for Watford scoring 1 goal and has also come the Northern Ireland youth system and go on to make 9 appearances for the full international side.

Trotta however seems to lack league experience having played just 10 league games whilst at Fulham then loans at Watford/Wycombe and now the Bees.

On the whole I think these signings could be very influential to the Brentford march to the Championship.

Brentford vs. Carlisle United [Home], vs. Preston [Away], vs Swindon [Away]

The Bees vs Carlisle

Brentford improved their set piece record against Carlisle as the Bees beat the Northerners 2-1 at Griffin park. The Bees picked up all 3 points thanks to Douglas and Paul 'he scores when he wants' Hayes

Brentford 2 Carlisle 1

Preston vs The Bees

Antonio German put away his first goal for Brentford as the Bees got in late to bag a point. A goal from Preston's Scott Laird looked like being enough to keep the points for the Deepdale outfit but the ever determined West London side managed to nick a point right at the end.

Preston 1 Brentford 1

Swindon vs. The Bees

Undefeated in 7, Uwe Rosler and his side arrived at the county ground to face Paolo Di Canio's high flyers in a match that had the potential to be animated. Even if it was just watching the gaffers...

Clayton Donaldson was on hand to score the only goal in what was a very close game by all reports as both sides showed why they are near the top of the table .

Brentford not only won the game but they are beginning to build momentum and go up the league table...

Swindon 0 Brentford 1

Please note-these reports where done by me looking through reports online and through tweets from the Brentford faithful.

A member of our writing team will write the one for Saturday.

Bees vs. Carlisle preview

Brentford vs. Carlisle is a replay of the 2011 JPT final played at Wembley Stadium

Brentford come into this game in the match at Griffin park in 9th place in NPower league 1 whilst Carlisle sit in 15th

Tomorrow could well be a land mark occasion for Bees play Shaleum Logan as he is set to make his 50th appearance in a red and white shirt [apart from obvious away games] so well done to him

My prediction is a 2-1 win for Brentford with Douglas and Clayton on the score sheet

Borehamwood AWAY. FA Cup 1st round

On Saturday the 3rd of 'Movember' Brentford traveled Borehamwood FC.

This was seen by many as good draw for the Bees but fans also kept in mind the 2nd round loss to Wrexham at Griffin Park last season...

Both sides approached this game with reason to believe they could win as they are both near the top of their respective leagues and and arrived at the ground off the back of weekend wins.

As this was my first trip to Meadow Park I decided go check out what I could see...

My first point of interest was Elstree Studios where Eastenders is filmed. Sadly you cannot get anywhere near to the set...

After this I felt I saw it was approaching 12 o'clock AKA lunch time so I decided to go grab a bite to eat from what turned out to be a rather elaborate menu...this menu has to be one of the BEST menu's I have ever seen at a football ground...

As you can see by the photo above I was rather lost for choice on the food front!

So once I have finished my food [have a guess what I had] I headed to the 'Away End', when I got there I got my first view of the Meadow Park ground and I have to say I was rather impressed, I had a quick wander around then got to my standing position and it was game time...

Brentford lined up with a familiar line up of Lee, King Kev, Legge, Craig, Bidwell, Forshaw, Douglas, Adeyemi, Hayes, Forrester, Donaldsons and this experience would prove pivotal as this game was over in the first half as Brentford took charge and scored 2 early goals from Clayton Donaldson and Harry Forrester .
After the 2 early goals, Bees fans may have been expecting a large win but no, Brentford could not get passed an inform James Russel in the Borehamwood goal.

FINAL SCORE: BRENTFORD 2 Borehamwood 0.

The Buzz man of the match was James Russel [Borehamwood goal keeper] who kept the Wood in the game.
